Handcrafted pieces of rustic Polish folk-art with a touch of a travelers inspirations and experiences.

In the Polish countryside, wycinanki, or cutouts, were traditionally made during the winter-time with giant shearing scissors and a little touch of rustic magic. These beautiful, and fairly complicated designs, typically depicted nature and figures in traditional costume and every region featured it's own, unique style. This is going to be a fun course!!

I got my first teaching opportunity next term and I just can't get away from this fascinating and incredibly important topic. Well, the book just arrived so I guess there's no going back now! 😁 Only I would choose a potentially contentious topic for my first class. 🙄

Celebrating being asked to be a godmother AND becoming a legal guardian to my niece all in the same day by finishing this trippy project! It was a first attempt at something totally new so it's fitting that it celebrates these new roles in my life.

So grateful to everyone involved (I don't know if they're announcing it so I'll keep names out of this) for all the trust and for being a part of their fam 🥰

After an intense week at Neuromatch Academy, I finally had some time to finish up a few projects. 😁

Allow me to present you the finished product of one of my previous posts! A paper ring made from an *old* story book and cardstock. Sadly, the "I am your king" got a bit sanded off, but you can still see it if you know it's there! I particularly love the gorgeous bright colours of the cardstock peeking through the novel. Certainly not the main feature, yet giving so much umph!

It's my aunts birthday and you know what that means... Don't work, make art!!

Since getting these metal flakes, I've been wanting to make everything shiny! What's happened to me?!

What am I making?

It's been so long since I had a proper art day. I've been working until midnight since mid-February 😩 But today I learned how to make something new instead and this is the result. Not too bad for my first notebook!

There just aren't enough ghosts in my house. So I planted some! And I made them a tiny little greenhouse that looks lovely in the sun 🥰

Anyone up for a ghost pepper party?

any pro-tips for bringing these wonders to life? 😁

So nice to do art again!
I've decided that it's a good time for some spring cleaning with the hopes that it brings spring 😉 So I've been taking old scraps of previous cutouts and giving them some life.

Sad to say goodbye to BC. These mountains will be calling me back every day.

There's nothing quite like saying goodbye (with a few extra choice words) to 2020 in a place like this.

Trying our hand at something electric 😱 Don't zap wood with electricity just to see what happens. It's dangerous.

And totally lovely 🤩😈

When PsychoPy has a hissy fit, listen to metal and paint anger-mountains instead! 😁💪
