Instead of saying, “I can’t afford it,” you could say, “Let me see how I could afford this now or in the future.” OR “Let me start saving towards it.” ⁣

When I was learning to drive, my driving instructor would always remind me to “Look Far.” He would say that wherever you look is where your car will go. If you focus on the curb, that’s where you will go. If you focus on the car beside you, that’s where you will go.⁣

It has occurred to me that this analogy is so relevant, especially when it comes to achieving goals, breaking cycles and RISING to where we want to be. The RISE doesn’t happen overnight and it requires us to consistently look far. 👀 ⁣

WE HAVE TO LOOK BEYOND OUR CURRENT SITUATION. ⁣
- current job, current paycheque, current relationship status, currently lifestyle. ⁣
⁣
WE HAVE TO LOOK BEYOND WHAT OUR FRIENDS ARE DOING ON THE WEEKEND. ⁣
- parties, trips, etc.⁣
⁣
While you work on the RISE, people will make you feel like you’re missing out on life; but when that happens, you have to “look far!” Now is the time for building, planting, praying & growing. In 3-5 years, you’ll look up and realize the sacrifice was worth it. ⁣

The concept of being SET APART has been on my heart heavily for the past little while. I believe that many of you have goals, desires and dreams that you would like to achieve but the potential opinions of your “culture,” your friends, your colleagues, the WORLD etc. are stopping you from stepping into what you are meant to do. None of us have time for that in 2019!! ⁣⁣

First of all, there’s nothing wrong with a nice, lighthearted, social media trend. However, after seeing about 1,345,647 posts, I made an observation. ⁣

So, a few posts spoke of actual transformation, growth, & life change, in their captions. ✔️ I thought that was cool - even inspiring. ⁣

Then the rest spoke of , the , & . The latter is cute and all. But are you happy with where you are in life?⁣

Separation before elevation. This is your year to RISE. Letting go of things and/or people in your life is sometimes part of the process. It’s okay to be . The future you will thank you for it. 💗

We are 10 whole days into 2019 guys!! Let’s made a decision not to let distraction win! ⁣

Lord, thank you for bringing us into 2019 and allowing for us to see another year. As we begin to attack our goals and launch forward into everything that you’ve called us to be, I pray for the grace to not allow distractions to take a hold of our minds. I rebuke every distraction coming in the form of negative emotions: offence, hurt feelings, self-pity, insecurity, self-doubt, fear, comparison, jealousy, loneliness, etc. I bind them all in Jesus name. Lord, we know that these types of distractions can cause us to waste a whole year and see no progress. Thank you for lifting us up and replacing every nahative thought with a positive one. Thank you for reminding us of who we are and how blessed we are. This year, God, help us to mind our own business!! Help us not to pay attention to nonsense. Help us to separate from people who only bring us down and surround ourselves with those who lift us up instead. Direct and guide us, Lord. Keep our minds on things that will prosper us. I declare that 2019 will be a year of greater heights, we will RISE up to reach new levels that we’ve yet to experience, in Jesus mighty name! AMEN. 💛
