Our History
At Tundra Leather we are committed to serving you with over 45 years of hands-on leather working experience. Beginning in 1987, Tundra Manufacturing Incorporated began as a part-time job. Later, in 1991, we changed our focus from manufacturing and moved more toward retail, when we took over an existing Tandy Leather Store and became Tundra Leather. In 2016 we celebrated our 25th Anniv
An email from the Art Gallery of Hamilton turned into a custom project we’re proud to have been part of.
For their Made in Hamilton exhibition, they wanted merchandise sourced right here in the city. We created these custom leather keychains from premium bridle leather, hand-cut, individually stamped, and finished with antique brass hardware.
A special shoutout to for creating the custom aluminum stamping die for us. We sent him our specs, and he absolutely nailed it. If you’re looking for custom dies, he’s fantastic to work with.
There’s something pretty special about local businesses collaborating to create something that celebrates Hamilton.
The keychains, along with other Made in Hamilton merchandise, will be available for purchase in the AGH Shop starting July 25.

A stitching pony is one of those tools you don’t realize you need until you try one.
It holds your project securely while hand stitching, freeing up both hands for cleaner, more consistent stitches and a more comfortable sewing position.
Pro tip: Cover the jaws with scrap leather to protect delicate projects, and choose a pony deep enough for your larger builds.
Do you stitch with a pony, or are you still working without one?

How many belts have you replaced in the last 10 years?
A well-made leather belt shouldn’t be another thing on your shopping list every few years.
Built from quality leather, solid hardware, and made to be repaired (not replaced) a good belt should outlive multiple pairs of jeans.
If you believe things should be made to last, share this post with someone who’s tired of buying the same thing twice.

Tool Tip Tuesday: Leather Punches 🔨
One of those tools that seems simple… until you use the wrong one.
Rotary punches are great for belts and straps when you need quick, consistent holes near an edge. Drive punches give you more size options, larger holes, and better reach for all kinds of projects.
A sharp punch should cut cleanly through leather with minimal effort. If you’re finding yourself forcing it, the tool may need sharpening before your technique needs fixing.
⁉️ Do you reach for a rotary punch or a drive punch more often?

Some reviews make you smile.
Some make you proud.
And every once in a while, someone takes the time to write something that reminds you why you do what you do in the first place.
This was one of those reviews. ❤️
Thank you for supporting our little leather shop.
