Despite the downpour and cold conditions, supporters of the 2025 Power of the Pen awardees and honourable mentions ✏️✏️ came out on Saturday to recognize the talented writers! 📚

Guest speaker and Susan Currie gave an inspirational talk about her writing journey including the ups and downs and twists and turns of her path to where she is now.

The 32nd Annual Power of the Pen is now open and submissions can be submitted before September 30. Get writing! www.hpl.ca/power-pen

Instruments offered include acoustic and electric guitars 🎸 keyboards ⌨️ and electric pianos 🎹and electric drum 🥁 kits.

Audio recording software includes Garageband, Adobe Audition and Audacity.

The Terryberry Library: Trails, Travels, and Taverns permanent exhibit has opened at Terryberry Branch! The combination and results of several years of work, the exhibit explores the history of the library and local area through themes of community, journey, and memory.

Beginning with the importance of the Mohawk Trail to First Nations peoples, it looks at the arrival of the Terryberry family to the region, the growth and development of Barton, and the opening of the Branch in 1970. It features artifacts donated by the Terryberry family and images from the Local History and Archives collection.
