What an amazing two weeks in Cochabamba, Bolivia! Two latrines for the local community centre and day care plus a huge 600 cubic feet water reservoir for the community. Good work Team McMaster. ONE MONTH until our volunteering trip to BOLIVIA!
Fun Fact: The currency is the boliviano (BOB). It is almost impossible to exchange Canadian dollars (cash or traveller's cheques) in Bolivia. Use credit cards, U.S. dollars or bolivianos for purchases.
Happy Canada Day everyone!
Congrats to the applicants who got an interview this week! Good luck!
Thank you everyone for applying for the volunteer trip! We got a lot of interest... but we can only offer a few spots! For the next week, we will review applications and contact successful candidates. =)
Hello everyone,
I just want to let you all know of a wonderful volunteering opportunity over the summer with Refresh Bolivia. Refresh Bolivia is a nonprofit organization that aims to implement innovative and sustainable projects in semi-rural communities of Bolivia to increase access to clean water and latrines. That being said, we have a trip organized this year to help out rural Bolivian communities in the summer. The trip is tentatively scheduled for the last two weeks of August. In terms of what you will be doing there, weekdays will be spent building, constructing, and implementing water technologies for communities while weekends will be spent exploring Bolivia and just having fun with other passionate students!
If you are interested and want more information about the trip, please feel free to send any execs (Jason Kwok, Vincent Wu, Oscar Chan, Samuel Xu, Lauren Hophing, Leslie Walker, and Anuja Bhalerao) an email. Additionally, if decide you want to participate in this trip, there is an application process. The application form for the trip is attached above and is due by March 28, 2013 at 11:59 pm. If you are successful in the application process, you will be invited for a skype interview. The application is on the status update below.
