Let's be clear, I'm kind of a crappy content creator and would certainly not even give myself that title. Hence the book covers pulled from Google.
Anyway, this book was great. .knox knocked this out of the park and I will definitely be starting the second one soon.
Anyway, hi, yes, you should read this book.
10/10.

The twists were mf twisting with this one!
Highly recommend!
I don't even want to describe the story because I don't trust myself not to slip a spoiler.
Five stars! All the accolades!

An Inevitable Magick - Lex Kelly
Cover By
-------
Welcome to Havenwood, a small magickal town, where anything is possible—except coincidences, keeping secrets, and avoiding your ex.
Liv Terrabella is going home. With an unknown darkness looming and a promise to her dying mother that she’d protect her younger sister, Liv packs Ivy in the car, and follows the signs home to Havenwood—the small town from her past, and the root of the magick that courses through her blood.
But a moody old house and her magick aren’t all that have been waiting for Liv’s return…
The Hawthorne family has been responsible for balancing the magick of Havenwood since its founding, a role Jaxon Hawthorne has meticulously constructed his life around. But when his sister’s most recent prophecy threatens to shatter that well-crafted stability, he’ll find himself face-to-face with a past he thought was out of reach and the woman who never stopped haunting his memories.
To keep their home safe from deadly forces, Liv and Jax must work together to uncover who’s behind the ritualistic murders plaguing the town, and what they want from the witches of Havenwood. But as secrets unravel, so do their desires, and soon they must decide whether to stand alone against the darkness or risk their own hearts for the thing they want most—each other.
Liv knew coming home wasn’t going to be easy, but she never imagined it could be deadly…

Another month with never enough books read.
I am once again requesting a pause in publishing! Your girl has some serious catching up to do. So many new books! I only have 2 eyes!
I'm not sure if I can pick a favourite this month. Bridge Kingdom was really good, and Empire of the Vampire was a masterpiece.
Honestly a really good month overall. I've had a good year so far with consistently good reads so hopefully we can keep the streak going.
QotD: What was your favourite read this month?

Did I make this photo last week and forget to post it? Sure did. Let us all take a moment to be glad I remembered to post it at all. These kids are kicking my ass.
I finally read ACOSF, and liked it better than I thought I would 'cause I *really* hated Nesta.

Book: Dance of Stars and Ashes by Nisha J. Tuli
Five stars. 9/6 on the unhinged love scale.
OKAY! Dance of Stars and Ashes comes out in two days! This is not a drill!
As told in my rave review of the first book, I got this as an e-ARC and I'm still riding that high lol
I refuse to spoil this book, but let's rave about it a little (or a lot).
Zarya goes 👏🏾through it👏🏾 in this one and I was genuinely glad for the friends she found in book 1, 'cause damn she needed them!
Rabin is quite literally everything we want (including a damn dragon) - my poor husband keeps saying the standards set by books are too high. This is the only time I'll agree with him on this because I would definitely love him more if he could become a dragon at will. Sorry, not sorry.
These two together were just glorious to read. The chemistry! The grovelling! The flirting! The secrets, dammit!
Alright now, first I want to tell you that the way this book ended was fantastic. But there might be some bits I have to (lovingly) fight you over and I think you know what it is. But all in all, I am very glad to see Zarya getting to go out and discover the world as well as herself. She earned that s**t while being hidden away.
This book isn’t even out yet, and I'm already sitting in my window, staring longingly into space while I await book 3.
I don't know if anyone cares about my opinions on books. but if you do, please give this series a chance. You won't regret it.

Spoiler alert: she does not cheer up.
For some reason, watching my toddler eat yogurt with her hands made me want to post a little snippet, lol.

The second book in this series comes out on February 16th. So i wanted to get my review for book 1 out into the world.
Firstly, I have a confession. I would like to apologize for lying on the arc request form for book 2. When i filled it out i hadnt yet read book 1 but had planned to.
Then when the ARC hit my inbox, I immediately made the switch to read Heart of Night and Fire.
Let's just skim the high notes here:
- read the book in a day despite mothering 2-under-2; i literally could not put it down
- The world of this story is so rich and detailed. The different culture was a breath of fresh air, and the clothing descriptions? Chef's kiss!
- Zarya's story is so well-crafted that I was immediately immersed. Her anger was justifiable. Her hesitations apt. Her foray into a new world felt so genuine that I was celebrating her making new friends
I just loved it. Also, I would really appreciate if I could order myself a dream forest. Thx.
Five stars. No notes. 11/10, would recommend, and will read again after ordering my hard copy.
