This palm and cocoa soap sensation is long lasting and cleanses while creating an amazing lather! Thank you, Zakia from for the recipe!

You will need:

Baraka Palm Kernel Oil – 122 grams
Olive Oil – 238 grams
Baraka Cocoa Butter – 102 grams
Castor Oil – 68 grams
Baraka Coconut Oil – 102 grams
Baraka Shea Butter – 47 grams
Distilled Water – 259 grams
Sodium Hydroxide – 91 grams
Fragrance Oil/Essential Oil – 21 grams

1. Measure you Sodium Hydroxide and Distilled Water.
2. Pour the Sodium Hydroxide into the distilled water and mix well to create a lye solution.
3. Measure and melt all oils and butters.
4. Pour your lye solution into the melted oils and butters. Blend well until it’s a light pudding consistency.
5. Add your fragrance oil and mix well.
6. Pour into the mold and allow to sit overnight.
7. Unmold after 24 hours and cut into bars.
8. Allow the soap to cure in well ventilated area for 5 weeks. Enjoy!

Often people with those skin types try to avoid using butters and thick creams because they can be too thick or heavy for their skin… but Mango butter could be just the thing!

Mango butter - INCI Mangifera Indica (Mango) Butter - is a light butter that is easily absorbed (fast-medium absorption rate) and it has a lighter, drier, less greasy feeling than other butters.

As an effective occlusive, it forms a protective layer that reduces TEWL which increases moisture retention and helps to keep the skin soft, smooth and hydrated. Mango butter also helps to improve the flexibility and elasticity of the skin too.

Good substitutes for mango butter would be Shea butter and Kpangnan butter.
