Ward 4 neighbours, as part of International Compost Awareness Week, the City is once again hosting its annual spring compost giveaway events across Hamilton. This is a great opportunity to pick up free compost for your lawn, garden, and plants while also learning more about how our curbside yard waste is transformed into nutrient-rich compost that supports healthier soil and a more sustainable city.
Residents who participate in the curbside yard waste program help make this possible, and the finished compost is available as a thank you for keeping organic waste out of landfill. Multiple locations and dates are available across the city, including Turner Park, Joe Sams Park, and Bayfront Park, with supplies offered while quantities last.
If you are planning to attend, please remember to bring your own shovels and containers, as compost is self-serve. This program is intended for residential use only and is not available for commercial purposes.
Full details, locations, and updates can be found at www.hamilton.ca/compost 🌱
