March 30th is World Bipolar Day 🧠
Approximately 2% of the Canadian population will be diagnosed with bipolar disorder in their lifetime, yet it remains an under-researched area.
The Biomac Lab and CAN-BIND are committed to advancing research to better understand bipolar disorder and improve treatments approaches.
Today, we recognize the importance of awareness, research, and continued progress toward better mental health care for those living with bipolar disorder.

Our research lab is affiliated with the Mood Disorders Clinic and Women's Health Concerns Clinic at St. Joseph's Healthcare, Hamilton! Our team of psychiatrists specialize in the treatment of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, in fact, we are one of the only clinics in Canada with this specialized background!

We are currently recruiting women between the ages of 16-45 to participate in our research study related to Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder! Message us for more information regarding participation.

Are you located outside of Hamilton? No worries! We cover all travel costs, in addition to providing compensation for participation.

This week our lab is focusing on Bipolar Disorder!

Over 2% of the Canadian population will be diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in their lifetime. Bipolar Disorder can be easily confused with Depression due to symptom similarities, however, it is important to understand the difference and to know you are not alone if struggling.
