We are accepting adoption applications for Skye!
Skye
1.5 yrs
Good with dogs
Cats with proper intro
Small children potential
Fully vetted
Adoption fee: $550
We are looking for the very best match for her because that’s what she deserves.
Skye was found as a “stray” dragging a large chain before ending up at our local shelter. Shepherds rarely do well in a shelter setting and we couldn’t say no to taking her on.
Skye seemed to lack exposure to a lot of things when she first arrived at her foster home and was a bit insecure. Thanks to Jordan, she’s thriving and has shown just how much of an amazing dog she really is.
Skye is a goofy, happy girl and has been nothing but a love bug while in our care. She has a surprisingly low level of reactivity for a Shepherd. She’s great in her crate, does well in the car and loves a good belly rub. If you have a love for GSDs, she’s your girl!
She is young and is still working on her manners. She can be a bit play mouthy and jumps up when excited, so small children may not be the best fit. She’s been a sweet girl with kids around in a controlled setting.
She’s a good girl around the kitties in her foster home, after learning that chasing them isn’t their favourite thing. She’s been great with other dogs and would love a buddy.
Skye will benefit from continued training. Providing structure/boundaries will ensure that she keeps the label of “goodest girl ever”. She would do best with people that understand and respect the breed and are willing to set her up for success. She does have a big bark, but like many Sheppies, it’s all bark and no bite.
Crating is a requirement. She can be an opportunist if left out and will chew through a tether if she can. She loves her crate and it keeps her safe when she can’t be supervised!
Skye absolutely loved joining her foster mom for canicross. She’s an active girl. She would prefer to find a family that will make sure she gets to enjoy even more outdoor adventures.
If interested in giving Skye her perfect forever home, please fill out an application on our website.

It’s official, Shuggie has been adopted!
She now goes by Shelby and is living the best life.
This sweet girl definitely makes her humans work for it, but her new mom stayed committed and now gets the daily privilege of sharing life with this silly, tippy-tap-toed little wombat.
We are beyond grateful that she gave Shug the chance she needed.
She is so loved, thoroughly spoiled, and incredibly lucky to have found her perfect forever home.
A huge thank you to Jordan for also helping this chonky little bug get the happy ending she deserved.
Happy tails, Shug!

Mama Kipling “Kippie” is ready for the spotlight!
She still needs her spay, but we’re accepting applications for her now so we can hopefully have a home lined up for when she’s ready.
Kippie and her 4 babes were living outside in the Westdale area. She’s said to have been outside for quite some time, but she’s friendly enough that she must have been inside at some point.
She can still be shy and does take a little time to warm up and get used to her new environment. Elaine said she’s able to pet and love on her when she kneels down, but she gets up when she tries to sit with her. She will need a little extra help with continued socializing. Once you’ve gained her trust, she’s a very sweet girl and has the happiest purr. She also rubs up on Elaine when it’s food time. We know she has a ton of potential with the right person willing to give her a chance!
Kippie has had some intros to the resident kitties, and she does seem to like them. We think she needs a cat friend. She could even go with one of her babies!
She did meet recently adopted Duke. She was a bit unsure, but it could be because of the babes being near by and that dogs are new to her! She may work in a home with a dog, depending on the dog and with time to get used to them.
Kiddos would be similar. If it were a calmer home with a family willing to put in the extra socializing work, it’s likely she would adjust after some time!
Overall Kippie is a sweet Tort that just needs a little love and time to come around. She deserves a family committed to giving her only the best for the rest of her life.
If you think you may be the right fit for Kippie, please fill out an adoption application!

The cutest tail! All her babies have a lighter tip on their tails too!

We are now accepting applications for The Westdale Crew!
They still need to be fully vetted before we can make the adoption final, but this way we can get the ball rolling and hopefully get them settled into what will be their forever homes.
We are accepting preadoption applications for Mama Kippie too, but we thought we would give her her own post later this week so she can shine!
Mac, Dale, Arkell (Ari), and Ainslie are approximately 8 weeks old at this time. They can still be scared and might need some continued help with socializing. Kids may be a bit much for them right now unless you’re willing to put in the extra time and work to help them become brave babies. In that case, we feel they would do well. Dogs would be the same!
They all have so much potential to be the biggest love bugs with the right people and a little time to come around. Our most scared, previously outdoor babies always end up being the biggest snugglers!
We are looking for forever homes that will put them first and give them anything they may need, and more, for their whole lives.
They will only go to adopters who are prepared, willing, and able to work with any health or behavioural issues should problems arise in the future (and they always do!).
Priority will be given to those interested in adopting a pair! Dale and Mac seem to love each other most. If not adopted together, they will need another kitty friend in the home.
If interested, please fill out an application on our website ⬇️

If we think you are a match, you will be contacted by email!
Our website is currently not updated (it’s a work in progress). I will be putting them on Petfinder soon if we still have not found their people.
A giant thank you to Rebecca, who not only made sure these littles and their mom got help, but who has also been covering the cost of their vetting!
As always, thank you to foster mom Elaine for doing all the extra work to make sure they get only the best on their journey to forever!

Estelle is adopted!
We are so happy for this little one. She really found the perfect family to spoil her with love for the rest of her life.
Thank you Caitlyn and Adam for not only rescuing her off the streets, but also fostering her until she found her forever family.
It’s always hard to let a foster go, but seeing them happy and thriving in their new home is what it’s all about!
Happy tails Estelle!

Skye has been hanging out with Kate while foster mom, Jordan, is on vacation!
She’s having all the fun and even making chicken friends.
She’s the cutest girl. We are so grateful for our friends at our local shelter that knew the “aggressive” label she got was just a scared Shep with a loud bark. Their work advocating for lives like hers means more get a better chance.
She’s such a special soul and deserves only the best!

Stinkle/Sprinkle is officially a Salty graduate!
She was finally cleared for her spay, which was the last step in her forever home journey. It was done on Monday, and everything went great.
She has already been home for quite some time now, but this makes it official!
The little Stink Bug came to us at just 4 weeks old with a congenital limb anomaly. We thought her little leg, which quickly straightened out, was our biggest worry. Little did we know she was actually a PRAA kitten needing a lifesaving surgery.
It took a record amount of funds to get her healthy.
Every single dollar raised and spent was so worth it.
To her foster mom, Elaine (and family), her surgery team at MOVEH, our main vet team at Dundas Animal Hospital, every person who donated towards her care, shared or engaged with her posts, or showed support in some way, and especially to her mom and brother, Pimento, for loving and accepting her, THANK YOU for helping save this life!❤️
Stinkle (now Sprinkle) is a little star and such a fighter. We knew nothing would get in her way from the moment we met the tiny, sassy girl.
Goodbye, Stinkle! Have the best happy tails!
(Thanks for the name idea )

Sunday Bunday!🐰
Twix and Buttons are still waiting on forever.
If you’re able to share their post so we can finally find their humans, it would be so appreciated.
This mother and son pair are still looking for the perfect people to give them the home they deserved from the start.
Twix and Buttons have been through being dumped twice now. We will be very picky about the home they end up in. They deserve bun savvy humans that can be committed to giving them both only the best for the rest of their lives.
Twix was originally found dumped on a trail, pregnant. She had her babies at our local shelter and we couldn’t say no to taking them. Twix is approx 6 months older than Buttons, who is now 4.
Mama is a typical shy bun but will do anything for a treat! Buttons is a bit shy too but is the cutest kissy boy. They are both gentle and sweet natured. They will need some continued help with socializing but with time, and some extra treats, they warm up to new humans! They are somewhat litter trained. They would like a quieter home where they can continue to be spoiled and loved for the rest of their lives.
These two have had some amazing fosters along the way, but we can’t wait until they finally find their forever!
Twix and Buttons are spayed/neutered, microchipped and will be up to date on their RDHV2 vaccine.
If interested in adopting Twix and Buttons please apply⬇️

We’ve come up with names for the Westdale Crew, so let us introduce you to:
Mama Kipling “Kippie”
Mom is loving getting to be inside. She’s not very spicy, so it’s likely she was an indoor cat at one point. She’s grateful Elaine is giving her all the love and keeping her babies safe! She also seems like she would do well with other kitties in the home.
Westdale “Dale”
Dale is a silly little guy who can also be a bit shy. He loves toys, especially the noisy ones. He would likely prefer to have a young buddy in the home that he can wrestle with, or even a home with his brother!
McMaster “Mac”
Mac is a curious kitten and a big mama’s boy. He’s always up for playtime, followed by a good nap.
Arkell “Ari”
She’s learned quickly that hisses get kisses and is making great progress thanks to Elaine! She’s a sweet angel baby who also loves to play.
Ainslie
She’s Miss Independent. A calm, quiet little calico who can often be found hanging out with her mama.
Kippie and her babies aren’t quite ready for adoption yet. They’ve had their initial vetting completed, but still have more to go before we can make things official.
We do accept general adoption applications and would consider matching someone who applies now with a kitten or cat once they’re ready, if they’re the right home.
For now, they’re living it up indoors with Elaine and having the very best time!
