We've merged with ! Swing dancing classes, social dances and events will be all under one roof to become the Heart of Swing Dancing in Hamilton, ON 💙💛🩶

This means that you won't hear news from us anymore as all our wonderful volunteers will now be working together under Steel City Swing Dance!

Lindy 1 and Solo Jazz Routines will start on Monday September 11th and registration is now OPEN at hamontswingdance.ca ! Tell your friends!

Steel City Swing's last Pier 8 dance of the summer will be Sunday September 10 - come on out and dance!

Gangsters, Grifters and G-Men, a prohibition-era themed fundraiser is happening next Saturday June 17th at Shawn & Ed's Brewery in Dundas!

There's going to be live music from the Jazz Gangsters, prizes for best dressed, games, food, beer and just enough space to squeeze in a dance or two!

Today is World Lindy Hop Day, the 109th birthday of Frankie Manning, "The Ambassador of Lindy Hop". Read a little about this man that was instrumental to our experience of this dance today, and celebrate his birthday and legacy, as well as the history of this amazing dance and all the people involved in developing it, with our friends in Toronto this weekend! Dances both Saturday AND Sunday night, plus workshops based on Frankie's previous workshops in Toronto on Sunday afternoon! Check out Toronto Celebrates World Lindy Hop Day 2023. See you there!

Today we celebrate on the 108th birthday of legendary Lindy hopper Frankie Manning!

World Lindy Hop Day honors all the dancers and musicians who contributed to the creation, development, continuation, and proliferation of this vital African American dance, which was born and bred in Harlem, NY.

Although Frankie passed away in 2009, we celebrate World Lindy Hop Day on his birthday because he is revered for his vital role in the history of swing dancing and his spirit lives on in the hearts and feet of swing dancers around the world.

Today, let's celebrate Frankie and all those who influenced Lindy Hop!

We're back with more classes and more socials! These ones start in just 10 days!

With the summer holidays just around the corner, we decided to give you the weekends off to enjoy the warm spring days. Both our Lindy 1 and Lindy 2 classes will run on Mondays!

Lindy Hop is a social dance where you will get a chance to meet new people, learn a new acticity and have a whole roster of moves to use at all the socials.

So what are you waiting for ! Head over to our website and sign up today!

Reminder to all you beautiful dancers! On Sunday we will be hosting an OPEN PRACTICE at the studio from 12pm - 1:30pm.

This will be a chance to practice some social dancing, ask the teacher questions and work out the rough patches on your moves.

Location is at 27 King William St, Sky Dragon Community Centre. Check out our story highlights to see how to get there if you've never been before!

$10 drop in fee.

Registration is now open for Intro to Lindy Hop Level 1! This class is for brand new Lindy Hoppers who want to learn the basics to this dance or for those who might be interested in trying out a new roll! Our teachers, Zoe and Oz will be giving you the run down and will be sure to show you some great new moves! Head over to our website to sign up!

In April we will be offering a solo Jazz and Musicality series with the lovely Clare! Registration is not yet open but we will be sure to let you know once it is!!
