Matthew 10:36-38

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

If you are weak, your life will be lived under the influence and the desires of men. You not willing to offend or disappoint any, you end up disappointing God and losing your future to those who, if they were in your shoes, will do otherwise and pay no attention to your feelings.
