Every Child Matters

This morning the toddlers were invited to play with orange playdough in an Every Child Matters activity. Along with other cookie cutters, the children used ones shaped as hands to mark make within the playdough 🧡

Natural Water Play!

As summer comes to an end and fall begins, the opportunities for outdoor water play are beginning to become limited, as it’s been getting colder outside. This past few days though, a lovely puddle has appeared on the back playground and with the right outdoor gear, we were able to go outside and pursue the ongoing toddler interest of water play. Many of the children enjoyed exploring this puddle both with their bodies and with the materials around them. Specifically, balls have also been a growing interest of this group and some of the children have been exploring combining the two interests to see what happens.

In Tangible room the children have been interested in many different loose parts. The children were filling and dumping. Some children were using pipe cleaners with the loose parts. They could feel the texture of the pipe cleaners, pull them, place them in the holes on the loose parts. Painting with food wrap (plastic cling film) is a simple and fun way to make cool textures and patterns in your artwork.

The children had a fun and active time play in the back playground. In their outdoor play, some cleaning activities were also taking place. The children participated in cleaning their toys, as well as helping to clean the walls. This was a great opportunity for them to learn about keeping their play environment clean, tidy, and enjoyable for everyone.

A pom-pom fine motor bin is a fun, hands-on activity where children use their hands or tools like tongs to explore and sort pom-poms.
