Destination Canada Launches National Tourism Investment Hub

DC - Investing in Canada’s Tourism Growth to Reach $216B by 2035! Canada’s tourism sector is a major economic driver and a growing investment opportunity, contributing more than $364 million daily into over 5,000 communities across the country, and returning $32.7 billion in municipal, provincial and federal tax revenue in 2024. With tourism revenue projected to reach $216 billion by 2035, this next phase of growth will require significant investment in tourism infrastructure, experiences and destination assets. To support this growth, Destination Canada has launched the Tourism Investment Hub, a national platform designed to connect investors with investment-ready opportunities across the country and provide the insights needed to support informed investment decisions. Tourism is one of Canada's top service exports.

TIANS Urges Federal Minister to Maintain Marine Link as Essential Service

TIANS has written to Federal Transport Minister Steven MacKinnon urging the Government of Canada to reaffirm the constitutional status of Marine Atlantic's ferry service as an essential service.

As a critical transportation link connecting Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, Marine Atlantic supports tourism, trade, supply chains, and the movement of people and goods throughout Atlantic Canada. Any service disruption would have significant economic and social impacts across the region.
