June is Pride month and we understand that there are still people who don't get why Pride month is celebrated.

Many in the LGBTQ+ community have/still live in hiding or deal with hate and exclusion. Many still suffer from being shut out from their own friends and family for being who they are.

Pride celebration is a way to reach people to let them know they are not alone. To promote inclusion. Inclusion for all. Not just LGBTQ+ but for ALL.

Pride saves lives. It has helped those alone find access to support resources, meet others who can relate and learn that even those who are not LGBTQ+ can still love you. It brings people together.

Every year we post for Pride and we will be reminded that the hate still exists. It can be quiet such as an angry face on our post. The influx of people who unfollow. Or the more forward hateful comment on the post. It doesn't feel good to be hated. We can handle it, but that doesn't mean it feels good. Also, doesn't mean others can handle the hate so we share this message in a mission to support others.

For those who celebrate Pride with us, welcome! If you are alone know we are here, you are not alone. Reminder to focus on the good. Find your people, they exist, hold them close and love them with all you have.

The tea house will be closed on Monday May 18th for Victoria Day holiday.

I am offering readings at World Tea House this Friday afternoon. The city is doing work on the street again, so it will look a little bit rough around the edges but it is open. If you were thinking of picking up some tea soon, now would be a good time while they are going through this rough patch again.
