Two happy pups! Stanley and Lainey love hanging out at TAH. 💙
Today, Stanley is getting his updated Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella vaccines with Dr. Wuhr! 🐾
It’s also Stanley and Lainey’s first time meeting our newest Technician, Selena, and as you can see… they really like her, a lot! 💕
You may recognize Selena as she did her co-op placement with us during her time at Dalhousie.
Stay tuned for a Meet the Team post coming soon, where you’ll get to learn a little more about her!
(*spoiler alert… she’s really great!😊)
Happy Friday, everyone! 🐾

Meet the Team! 💙 🐾
Say hello to one of our amazing Veterinary Assistants, Corrie!
Corrie grew up in Halifax with a lifelong passion for animals and biology. She was always surrounded by pets, especially multiple cats and dogs (specifically German Shepherds), which helped shape her love for veterinary care!
After studying biology at Dalhousie, Corrie began her career as a Veterinary Assistant in 2015 and quickly fell in love with the field! She has a strong interest in surgery, laboratory work, and infection control. Corrie has experience in both emergency and specialty surgery, but still never tires of meeting new puppies and kittens!
She is currently working toward becoming a Veterinary Technician and is a recipient of VetStrategy’s scholarship for the Penn Foster program!
In addition, Corrie is a book of knowledge.. she knows SO many fun facts!!
Outside of work, Corrie enjoys hiking and spending time in nature or at the beach near her home in Eastern Passage with her daughter, Aurora, her dog, Gabi, and her three cats. She also enjoys time with her boyfriend, who is currently enrolled in the DVM program at AVC.
We are very fortunate to have Corrie on our team!!

We have big news!!!
We are thrilled and very proud to introduce Dr. Kyla Wuhr, who has officially joined the team here at Timberlea Animal Hospital!
Originally from Minto, New Brunswick, Dr. Wuhr knew she wanted to become a veterinarian from the young age of four! She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island before earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2005.
After graduating, she spent her first two years practicing small animal medicine in Ontario before making her way back to the East Coast. She has been caring for pets and their families in HRM since 2008 and brings over 20 years of experience to our team.
Dr. Wuhr has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and is passionate about mentoring veterinary students, educating clients, and building meaningful relationships with both pets and their people.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family and her two very handsome cats, Simon and Sully. 🐾
Welcome to the team, Dr. Wuhr! We are so happy that you’re here! 💙

❕NEXT FRIDAY! ❕
Tick season is already well underway, and we’ve seen a significant increase in Lyme disease cases this year across Nova Scotia. 🦠
If your dog spends time outdoors (even just on walks!) screening is strongly recommended. EVEN if they are on prevention. Your pet can’t tell you when something feels off or they feel unwell. 🐾
We’re having a 4Dx Testing Clinic on Friday, May 29th from 10am-6pm!
A 4Dx test is one simple blood test that screens for Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses, while also checking for heartworm disease.
Appointments are limited, so give us a call to reserve a spot! 💙
05/21/2026
Kindly note that we ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice should you need to cancel your pet’s appointment.
This allows us the opportunity to offer that appointment time to another pet in need of care.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding! 🐾
