InQueery #23 Tips on Getting Through The Holidays - Redefining Traditions Can Be a Good Way to Rekindle Love for the Season

Holiday Tips:
1) Giving gifts does not mean spending money. If you are motivated to exchange gifts this season, consider different ways to do that without breaking the bank. Some ideas are homemade gifts like arts and crafts, acts of service, baked goods, knitted gifts, scavenged stones, poems or songs, or memory videos/slideshows.

2) If you want to purchase gifts, please support your local artists, makers, and small businesses!

3) You don't need wrapping paper because you can use newspaper and watercolours! Try replacing bows and ribbons with pine cones and holly.

4) Just in case someone needs to hear this: it's okay to just not. It's okay not to do gifts. It's okay not to decorate. It's okay to skip the ugly sweater party and the eggnog, and it's okay if you don't make a single thing from scratch the entire season. Give yourself grace and permission to excuse yourself from traditions that don't enrich your life.
