Thanks for helping get the word out about the Circular Computer Project

Do you have an old laptop or tablet collecting dust or going unused? Donate it to help bridge the digital divide for equity-deserving community members without reliable access to technology. We’re partnered with the ’s Circular Computer Project to collect 100 used laptops and tablets this June as part of the 100 Devices for Digital Equity initiative. Drop off your device (including its corresponding charging cable) at any Library branch and sign a waiver to release it to the Guelph Tool Library. They’ll ensure your device is securely wiped and refurbished. There’s only a few days left to donate! Visit your local branch or check out the Guelph Tool Library’s website to learn more.

Membership prices go up July 1st, lock it in now and save for a whole year. Sign up or renew online or in person.

We will always aim to keep our membership price accessible, and this is our first price increase in 3 years. Membership fees only cover a portion of our operating costs each year, and with some recent increases, it’s become necessary for us to charge more for our annual memberships. Doing so helps better equip us for covering our monthly operating costs while also helping support our other programs.

Regular memberships will increase to $80/years plus taxes and fees

Lend a Wing memberships will increase to $110 per year plus taxes and fees, and each one sold allows us to donate a membership to a community member facing financial barriers.

We will continue to offer discounts on renewal memberships processed within 30 days of expiry.

Late fees are increasing to $2 per item, per day. Per day blade fees are switching to a per-loan fee of $3. All other per use or per loan fees are subject to change.

Help us with our 💯devices drive! Drop your gently used laptops and tablets off at any branch before June 30! Our Circular Computer Project volunteers will get them fixed up and we’ll distribute to people who can use them via our awesome community partners!

After over 8 years with the Guelph Tool Library, our Community Engagement Manager,
Steph Clarke is beginning a new adventure working at Walt Disney World, a lifelong dream!

Steph has helped us build up our organization, beginning when we had only 400 tools and less than 150 members. Now, our physical space has more than doubled, we have increased program capacity, our inventory is four times the size, and we have 880 members (and growing)!

We wish her all the best!
