This Bookhug Press book of poetry was released just last week. Sometimes the design solution is an obvious one: Emulating Tinder's interface as a book cover, with an evocative illustration by Kate Sutherland becoming a Tinder profile image.

The Tinder Sonnets Sometimes the obvious design is the winner. Here, I utilized the gorgeous collage illustration by Kate Sutherland to create a cover that looks like a Tinder profile.

Eramosa Institute is presenting The Guelph Lecture—On Being this May as a part of ArtsEverywhere Festival. They have a great lineup this year, including Cory Doctorow, and a new logo!

As the second largest funder of social services, second only to government, we at United Way are proud to fund and be a part of the non profit sector. Everyday we see the innovative, creative and compassionate ways nonprofits across Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin show up for our community.

This week, we're celebrating the people behind the work and the connections that make our communities stronger.

Shoutouts to the Art Gallery of Guelph, Guelph Dance, Guelph Film Festival, Guelph Jazz Festival, and Hillside Festival for infusing our lives with joy.

The Guelph Community Health Centre provides key health services to many in our community — including my own family. Many nonprofits are stepping up to help people suffering from our housing, food security, and addiction crises.

Our natural environment benefits from groups such as Urban Park Guelph, eMERGE, and Environmental Defence Canada (to name just a few), who advocate tirelessly for the species we share our planet with and enriching our own lives.

Behind each of these nonprofits are hard-working, passionate people dedicated to helping everybody profit.

So, thank you!

I was honoured to be asked by Do/able Consulting, in partnership with United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin, to design this brand. Nonprofits across this region have received postcards, stickers, and posters to thank the people who help everybody profit. Local illustrator Gillian Wilson ( on Instagram) helped bring it to life with her illustrations.

I spent the first two weeks of January “in” jail—working on an exhibition called "Darkness and Light: Inside the Ontario Reformatory" for Guelph Museums. This included designing the wordmark and panels as well as creating a 7.6 x 6 m floor map that was to be “hand-drawn—more illustration than schematic / more human than institution.” The history of this place is fascinating and multi-faceted—especially important to the many Indigenous survivors of the residential school programs, who created art and persevered to reclaim their stolen heritage. A big shoutout to my friends at Sign Art Centre of Guelph Inc, who handled this huge, time-sensitive production with aplomb!

This was a fun, challenging project—applying a colourful The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital brand update by The Letter M to a number of in-hospital promotions, including these elevator wraps. Our goal was to make patients aware that the equipment their nurses and doctors are using is funded by donations—even stretchers. I suggest that this is a good place to donate your $200 Ontario Government cheques, if you can afford to. (I would argue that "universal" health care should not be dependent on the wealth of each community. And why is the government handing out money when our health care system is so clearly inadequate?)

As part of my personal commitment to help raise awareness about the climate emergency, I have been working with the folx at Guelph Climate Action Network (GCAN), designing a logo and other assets to get their word out.

Guelph Climate Action Network logo Time is running out for the climate. To convey the urgency, I used the “doomsday clock” idea as the basis for this logo.

The Canadian edition of The Singularity by Balsam Karam, a Swedish writer of Iranian Kurdish descent, used the same cover illustration as the U.S. and Australian editions. My job was to make the Canadian edition… singular.
