As the year comes to a close, we're excited to spotlight an upcoming initiative available to participants in Canada: BugQuest!

BugQuest is a national citizen science project that invites schools and community groups across Canada to explore the incredible diversity of insects in their own local landscapes.

Citizen science often begins with a conversation, so as you gather with family and friends over the holidays, keep BugQuest in mind and share this opportunity to discover biodiversity in the coming year. 🐞

πŸ“£ Discover BOLDistilled!

The BOLDistilled reference library, produced using a new algorithm, is comprehensive yet compact. It slashes analysis time by over 98% without compromising taxonomic accuracy.

Most importantly, because each library is archived, it is possible to validate the conclusions reached by any study which employed a particular library to assign identifications to sequences recovered from eDNA or by metabarcoding.
