It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of one of our current Wayfreight Family Members, Mike Hussey. Mike, along with his Girlfriend Karen, and their super cute pup Sasha were in a motorcycle accident this past weekend. The sense of loss felt around here is profound. Mike has been with us for over 10 years, and yet, it feels like just yesterday when he started. First impressions were a rough looking grumpy guy, but nothing could be further from the truth. From day one Mike has always been a shinning example of what a professional truck driver looks like. Full of opinions but even fuller of heart lol. I know I speak for everyone here when I say we are going to miss you a ton Mike, the laughs, the puppy, and most of all, a great guy that we could all rely on and call family.

"Beekeepers Swarm to Rescue Millions of Bees after Truck Crash"

So, this just happened in Washington state. A full load of 14 MILLION bees broke free after a flatbed truck crashed. The load weighed 70,000 lbs! Imagine having 70,000 lbs of bees angry at you while you're sitting in the cab.

We can't share a link, but check it out for yourself. A bunch of local beekeepers came onto the highway to corral the 300 beehives and get them back on the road.

Shoutout to KAG at this truck stop. This is the ulti-mutt dedication to delivering on time. Hopefully the pawthorities don't pull him over!

Fun Fact- The United States Air Force opened Walker Air Force Base in Roswell in 1941 as a 'flying school.' The 'Roswell Incident' with our good friend ET happened in 1947. Coincidence?? No way.

The US Army Air Forces initially claimed they had recovered a "flying disc," but later retracted the statement, saying the debris was from a weather balloon.

All we can say is, the parking is impeccable and the views at night are great.

Hi! We're in New Mexico!

Here's a couple extremely important facts about the 'Land of Enchantment' that everyone needs to know:

1) The capital of New Mexico is Santa Fe, which translates to "holy faith" in Spanish.

2) The state motto is "Crescit Eundo" which means "It Grows As It Goes.” We're just going to assume that refers to all the cactus. Cactuses? Cacti?

3) New Mexico's population is only 2.1 million people, which you would think would put it as one of the least populated places in the United States. Not so. It actually ranks 37th in population, with states like West Virginia, Hawaii, and Maine having even lower numbers.

4) The most popular location in NM is probably Los Alamos, which was one of the central facilities of the Manhattan Project where the first atomic bombs were designed and built.

5) Here's the shocker - New Mexico is actually older than regular Mexico by over 250 years. It was not named after the country, but in fact both take their name from the ancient Valley of Mexico which was the heart of the Aztec civilization. So New Mexico is actually old Mexico, and old Mexico is still just... Mexico.
