Today we remember Chris Simon.
A warrior on the ice. A teammate. A protector. A guy who would do anything for the people beside him.
A couple years ago I had the honour of speaking in his hometown of Wawa. His family was there. They welcomed me in, shared stories, and gave me some incredible gifts, including one of Chris’ eagle feathers.
That meant more than I can put into words.
It’s easy to remember the player. The toughness. The fights. The presence.
But behind that was a human being, like all of us, dealing with things we don’t always see.
We say it’s okay to be not okay.
But we have to keep showing up for each other. Checking in. Having the hard conversations.
Thinking of his family today, and everyone who knew and loved him.
Rest easy, Chris. You are not forgotten.

Five years ago today the hockey world lost Daniel Robert Minor.
Like many athletes, Daniel suffered an injury that led to pain medication. Over time, that struggle followed him through much of his adult life.
I didn’t know Daniel personally while he was alive, and neither did Puck Support at the time. But after his passing we connected with the Minor family, and over the years they’ve become family to us.
Today we remember Daniel.
A son.
A husband
A Dad
A teammate.
A friend.
Someone who mattered deeply to the people who loved him.
Someone who mattered deeply to the people who loved him.
To the Minor family — we are thinking of you today and always. Your willingness to share Daniel’s story has helped shine a light on struggles many families quietly face.
Daniel’s story is a reminder that behind every headline is a human being, a family, and a life that mattered.
Rest easy, Daniel.
You are not forgotten.

Our hearts are broken for the Southern Alberta Mustangs community.
Three young hockey players, JJ Wright, Cameron Casorso, and Caden Fine, lost their lives on their way to the rink. Kids who were doing what they loved. Kids with teammates waiting for them. Kids with families who should still be cheering them on.
Hockey is supposed to be the safe place.
The early mornings. The car rides. The laughs. The dreams.
Moments like this shake our entire hockey world because we all see our own kids, our own drives, our own families in it.
Today, we send love to their parents, siblings, teammates, coaches, billets, and everyone carrying this loss. There are no words big enough — only compassion, community, and the promise that these boys will never be forgotten.
We skate with you.
Always. 🖤

We promise to keep saying your name, to keep your light alive, and to never, ever forget you.
Forever part of the Puck Support family.
Forever skating with us. 🕊️🏒💜💚

Remembering Mitch Fadden — Eight Years have passed but his memory never fades.
Today marks eight years since the passing of Mitch Fadden, a WHL All-Star, an elite talent, and a human being whose story helped shape the very foundation of Puck Support.
Mitch played the game with a rare combination of skill, passion, and joy. But for those who knew him personally, he was much more than a player. Mitch and Puck Support founder Brady Leavold were roommates during their time in Norfolk while chasing the pro dream. They shared laughs, late nights, struggles, mistakes, and moments of truth. They lived fast, they got in trouble, they dreamed big — and through it all, they built a brotherhood that never faded.
Mitch’s tragic overdose eight years ago was one of the losses that ignited the mission of Puck Support:
to honour the lives of those we’ve lost, to break the stigma around mental health and addiction in hockey, and to fight for those still struggling in silence.
So much of the work done over the past six years has carried Mitch’s name quietly woven into it — a reminder of why this movement exists, and who it exists for.
Today, we honour Mitch’s memory and send our love and strength to his family, his friends, and everyone who still feels this loss deeply.
Your story continues to guide this mission, Mitch.
You are never forgotten.

We are heartbroken to learn about the passing of former Regina Pats goaltender David Reekie.
David was part of our hockey family — a teammate, a friend, and a person loved by many. His loss is being felt deeply across the hockey community tonight. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, former teammates, and everyone whose life he touched.
It’s never easy to find the right words in moments like this. Another young man, another teammate, another beautiful soul gone far too soon. We’ve now lost more than 200 players and members of the hockey world to su***de or overdose that we know of. Behind every name is a story, a family, and a community left trying to understand why.
David, we will remember your spirit and your love for the game. You will never be forgotten.
If you’re struggling right now, please reach out for help. You are not alone. There is hope, there is healing, and there are people who care deeply about you.
Rest in peace, David Reekie 💜💚
