👑A Message from Allyson Scott, Grande Prairie Pow Wow Princess:

“The Grande Prairie Powwow Princess Program provides young Indigenous women with the opportunity to represent their community, culture, and traditions with pride and respect. More than a pageant, the competition recognizes leadership, cultural knowledge, public speaking, dancing ability, and a commitment to serving the community.

As Grande Prairie Powwow Princess, I have the honour and responsibility of serving as a cultural ambassador. My duties include attending powwows and community events, welcoming visitors, supporting dancers and drum groups, and helping wherever I am needed. I am expected to uphold our traditions, learn from and listen to Elders, promote our culture and language, and serve as a positive role model for younger generations.

Holding this title is about far more than wearing a crown. It is about representing my people with humility, respect, kindness, and pride while sharing the beauty, strength, and resilience of Indigenous culture with others.”

A fantastic day at the Keyera Charity Golf Tournament in support of Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association. We were proud to be part of an event that brings our community together to support an incredible organization and its mission. ⛳🐾
