Our CDN community shares in mourning the loss of Chief Kwarakwante Clifford Alfred Calliou of the Kelly Lake Cree Nation. We celebrate his life, legacy, and commitment to Indigenous ways of knowing and being. We will miss his leadership, his partnership, and his wisdom. Our thoughts are with his wife and children.

In tribute, we share this photo of the Chief in his feather headdress. It’s an image Kelly Lake Cree Nation shared with us years ago and is, today, a powerful symbol of this respect for which we honour his life and legacy.
