Pour demeurer compétitifs dans une économie mondiale en transformation, nous devons moderniser nos ports, renforcer nos chaînes d’approvisionnement et bâtir un réseau de transport plus efficace. 🇨🇦

C’est pourquoi notre gouvernement investit jusqu’à 14,3 M$ au Port de Charlottetown afin d’y installer des infrastructures d’alimentation électrique à quai qui permettront aux navires de réduire leurs émissions lorsqu’ils sont amarrés au port.

En investissant dans des infrastructures modernes, nous réduisons les émissions, renforçons notre économie et bâtissons un système de transport moderne sur lequel les Canadiens peuvent compter.

To remain competitive in a changing global economy, we must modernize our ports, strengthen our supply chains, and build a more efficient transportation network. 🇨🇦

That is why our government is investing up to $14.3 million in Port Charlottetown to install shore power infrastructure that will allow ships to reduce their emissions while docked at port.

By investing in modern infrastructure, we are reducing emissions, strengthening our economy, and building a modern transportation system Canadians can rely on.

It was a great discussion today alongside my colleague MP Emma Harrison at the Peterborough and the Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce on Canada’s economic future and the major projects, including High-Speed Rail, that will strengthen our competitiveness.

To grow our economy, strengthen our supply chains, and support trade across the country, we must modernize and expand the infrastructure that connects Canadians. 🇨🇦

For too long, nation-building projects tied to ports, railways, and trade corridors have been slowed down by red tape and overly complex processes.

Our government is launching engagements to streamline our regulatory process and get our supply chains moving. We will be working with Indigenous Peoples, provinces and territories, industry partners, and Canadians every step of the way.

To transform our economy and build faster in Canada, investors and project proponents need predictability, efficiency, and a system that works.
