Sometimes this job can take me places I never expected. This weekend was one of those unexpected treats. I had the absolute honor of working with a true comedy legend, Emo Philips. He’s been doing this longer than I’ve been alive, and he still remains of the best there is. His one-of-a-kind stage presence combined with his razor sharp jokes make him a must-see act in my humble opinion. But, the real joy for me was to have the opportunity to spend some time with him off stage. He is incredibly kind and generous. He places an admirably high premium on appreciating his fans and strives to make the show well worth their time and money. He was thoughtful in offering me both career and life advice from his considerable experience. It’s an experience I will never forget and I hope to have the pleasure of sharing the stage with him again one day. Thanks, Emo!

I had awesome week visiting Detroit, Fort Wayne and Chicago on my way back from Canada.

First was Detroit, where I did a spot at the House of Comedy and then got some Detroit style pizza, saw Eminem’s Mom’s Spaghetti walk up window restaurant, and watched a Detroit Tiger’s game.

Then on to Fort Wayne for a spot at the Summit City Comedy Club. Huge thanks to them for having me on last minute.

Next was the Chicago area where ZANIES Rosemont was kind enough to give me a spot on a show with Mike Vecchione. All of the ZANIES clubs are some of the best in the world. Thanks to for the photo.

Lastly, I was fortunate enough to work with the legendary Henry Phillips, one of my favorite comedians. He’s every bit as friendly and welcoming as he is funny. It was also an opportunity to work with the very funny Brian Hicks…who helped convince me to do Karaoke for the first time ever. Big shoutout to Danny’s Pub & Grill who were incredible hosts!

All in all, a killer week!

Last night I had the privilege to open for Jeff Leeson at his biggest show to date. Nearly 1200 people filled the Capitol Theatre in Chatham, Ontario. I’ve been touring with Jeff for the last couple years and we have done every kind of show imaginable, from legendary clubs like ZANIES and the Hollywood Improv to small theatres and tiny back rooms with only 12 people. But no matter the venue size, Jeff always delivers an A+ show that leaves the audience in awe of his quick wit and comic brilliance.

It has truly been one of the great pleasures of my life to share, not only the stage with him night after night, but also countless hours in the car driving all across North America. He has been an incredible friend and invaluable mentor to me as I find my way through this challenging and fickle industry.

So I just want to say thanks to Jeff for everything we’ve done so far and everything we’ll do in the future. And I want to congratulate him on an amazing show that he absolutely killed last night.
