Today Patti spoke with the Town of Fairview operators about the recent odour and colour to the water. The colour was coming from adding manganese to the water to treat the odour and has now been stopped. Water is and has been safe to drink. The planned maintenance should be wrapping up soon and within a couple weeks more typical water will be working through the FRWP system.

Field Manager-Part Time
Fairview Rural Water Project

FRWP is currently accepting applications for the position of Field Manager for immediate employment. The Field Manager works under limited direction in carrying out routine maintenance, conducting inspections for compliance, and taking corrective action when required. The Field Manager will also oversee construction projects that the FRWP may undertake or require.

The successful applicant will have the ability to work unsupervised, and will possess the attributes to work well with members of the FRWP and the public at large. Applicants must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in responding to both emergent and non-emergent situations.

Applicants must possess a class 5 driver’s license, and have the ability to provide their own transportation compensated on a mileage basis.

Experience and knowledge in water systems, plumbing and construction would be an asset in successfully carrying out the duties of this position. Successful candidate must be bondable.
