This week is for all the men out there. Leading up to Father’s Day next weekend, it’s time to celebrate the men in our lives and make sure they are leading healthy lives.
The Canadian Men’s Health Foundation reports that Canada is among the healthiest countries in the world. The downside is that research is showing that Canadian men are facing health challenges due to bad habits. Poor eating, not enough physical activity, high stress levels and now dealing with social isolation.
What do most of these challenges have in common? They are preventable.
How to participate?
1. Hug your Dad (only if he lives with you)
2. Call your Dad, let him know you’re thinking of him during these times
3. Donate for Dad, every year my family participates in the Telus Ride for Dad, they raise funds to use towards prostate cancer research and awareness.
Men, when this pandemic is over call your doctor…make that appointment for your health screenings. It’s important.
