What do your cupping colours tell you?

It’s common for cupping to leave small, circular marks on the areas where the cups were applied to the skin.

These cupping marks are discolouration of the skin due to broken blood vessels just beneath the skin, much like a bruise. This indicates the level of blood stagnation and toxin accumulation in your body. The color and pattern of the marks reflect the level of stagnation in that area. The darker the colour, the more stagnation there is.

Cupping Therapy involves suctioning cups on the skin to decompress or separate the layers of muscle and fascia (the layer below the skin).

It promotes blood flow, enhances circulation and helps increase the body's own healing process. Factors such as sedentary lifestyle, poor posture, inflammation, overusing muscles, or injury can cause fascia to bind with underlying soft tissues.

The Government of Ontario has announced that as of July 12, 2022 masks will no longer be required in health care settings.

— Ontario has extended the mandatory masking mandate in health care settings until June 11th. Thank you for your understanding!

On March 9, 2022, the Chief Medical Officer of Health announced that Ontario’s mask mandates would be ending on March 21st in most settings. Mask mandates will continue in select settings such as public transit, health care settings, long-term care homes and congregate care settings.

Registered Massage Therapists fall under health care so we have been advised by our college (CMTO) that masks and pre-screening will still be required until April 27th.
