We fight to keep Nestle from extracting our local water resources so that our groundwater will be hel SaveOurWater.CA needs your help!

Stop Nestle from removing up to 1.6 Million Litres of WATER per day from 7334 Middlebrook Rd, trucking it to Aberfoyle, packaging it in plastic bottles and removing it from the Grand River Watershed. We are residents and friends of Elora's water who have gathered to protect the safety and sovereignty of our local drinking water by asking the Ministry of the Environment to refuse approving a Permit To Take Water for the Middlebrook Well Siting.

🚨 SaveOurWater is thrilled with the purchase of the Middlebrook well by the township of Centre Wellington ensuring a secure future water supply. It has been a 10 year effort of so many people to protect the well from water bottling by Nestle and Blue Triton and now both companies are gone from Ontario!

This community rallied, organized, researched, marched, raised funds, and worked hard to make this outcome possible. 💙

Congratulations for the community effort resulting in this positive outcome! 🎉💦💙

In a world where over 1.5 billion plastic bottles are bought daily, and microplastics are found in oceans, soil and in the air, it is not surprising to learn that plastic poses a danger to human health.

Every molecule of plastic ever created still exists somewhere on earth. That’s because plastic never disappears, it just breaks down into tinier and tinier particles until the microscopic bits are small enough to end up in our bodies, including in our bloodstream and major organs.

A study just released on August 26 observed the accumulation of plastic in the 40 to 50-year-old human brain at 0.5% tiny shards of plastic.

We are, apparently, becoming plastic people.

🚨The Save Our Water community continues to oppose any fresh, clean groundwater from the deep bedrock under Centre Wellington being put into plastic bottles, creating an unhealthy product, unhealthy for the environment and for our bodies.

Our Story

Save Our Water is a group of Centre Wellington residents who are determined that Nestlé will never be permitted to take water from our township and that groundwater will be held as a public trust, now and for future generations.

The multinational water bottler Nestlé Waters purchased the Middlebrook well for its water bottling operation when Centre Wellington, the local municipality, attempted to buy it for its drinking water needs. Save Our Water believes that Nestlé’s challenge to Centre Wellington is a challenge to each one of us, as large-scale commercial water bottling threatens each person’s basic right to local drinking water.
