Fresh Lines

Snow falls
like a halo
upon the earth
fresh lines
s t r e t c h
into infinity

she surfs waves of white
like a dreamer in a lucid dream
aware of nothing
yet everything
time disappears beneath
that snowflakes

like a deer stamping prints
in a snow-covered forest
she is the first in her lineage
to forge new ground,
to melt pain into
rivulets of compassion
to forgive a forest of betrayal
to heal her once crevassed heart

descending in this
timeless cascade
of g r a c e
she carves
fresh tracks
