I created a modern twist to this classic from the eighties. This Lund has been with it’s present owner for forty years of service. The boat has been well preserved but the upholstery was tired and due for replacement. I penned some sketches, consulted with the owner and went all in for this interior. New polyethylene shells up front. New marine grade plywood with added end cut preservative In the rear bench. Long Life foam cut for support and comfort. Marine grade vinyls and accessories throughout. The customer provided direction and Inputs throughout the process from artistic choices to added features such as the net phone pockets, hidden snap fastening and 1” bolstering. Colour choice is a nod to the original design with a modern taste.

Solar flares are near the peak of an 11 year cycle. I was thrilled to perform this experiment/demonstration successfully for the first time. The large image and clear sunspots were super thrilling and gratifying 😃! If you do this with your telescope or binoculars, keep the front of your telescope covered with a Kleenex to avoid baking / burning / melting your fragile eyepiece! And of course, prevent anyone looking through the telescope at the sun. Think of frying eggs with a magnifying glass!

Capri seats.

I enjoyed restoring these Mercury Capri seats to near original. I love those intersecting curves and how it pulls out over the shape. Precision , 8 mm (5/16”) seam allowances and heat 😁!

Overdue for a few updates. VW Westphalia project is progressing well. Scottish tartan wool and vinyl. Soft Cotton felt under the tartan above armrests amplifies traditional ambiance. Firm touch foam carved under vinyl ties it to the present. Map pockets pull flat behind the panels

F150 4dr headliner recovered in AirKnit black. I love working with this material, a knit nylon with open design and colour matched foam backing with excellent contour abilities.

Progress on a 1970s Challenger Cinvertible top. Original pads were fairly good and easily restored. I have removed and installed the window eight times so far and the main section isn’t on yet. No wonder many dislike or can’t do this job. My hat is off to those who can do it with only removing the tack bars maybe four times.

Tiny #4 Phillips chrome oval head screws countersunk look very original. Closing the plastic strips at rear is a two person job. Black duct tape covers exposed foam.
