The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in Edmonton, Alberta, is a leader in technical training and applied education. to 4:30 p.m.

In addition, NAIT is Canada’s leader in apprenticeship training for skilled trades. At NAIT, everything we do is focused on giving students the skills needed to build strong futures. In fact, surveys show that year after year nine out of 10 NAIT grads are hired soon after graduation. Simply put, NAIT grads get jobs! This National Forest Week, we’re celebrating the NAIT students, grads and instructors helping shape the future of Alberta’s forests.
In the Forest Technology program, students take their learning beyond the classroom and into the field, building practical skills in forest ecology, wildfire suppression, reforestation, GIS, GPS and more.
It’s hands-on learning with a purpose: preparing the next generation to support responsible forest management, environmental stewardship and the sustainable use of Alberta’s natural resources.
For those who want to work outdoors, care deeply about the environment and build a career with purpose, there’s a whole forest of possibilities at NAIT.

3rd year Autobody apprentice Anika Jones and Chair of the Autobody program, Cecile Bukmeier, are headed to Shanghai to represent Team Canada in Car Painting at WorldSkills. With more than 1,400 competitors from 90 countries across 64 skill competitions, this is one of the largest gatherings of talent every two years.
Anika will have her parents travelling alongside her, cheering her on as she competes against 23 other car painters from participating nations.
Cecile will also represent NAIT on the world stage as the Team Canada WorldSkills Expert in the same competition. She has also worked alongside Anika for the last two years, helping her prepare for this competition.
Good luck, Anika! We're proud to see you and Cecile representing NAIT, Alberta and Canada on the world stage.
