Our last instructor is the man who started it all. 18 years ago OTP was his dream. And today we are the largest premier performance riding school in Western Canada.
Instructor Introduction: Justin Knapik
Justin Knapik is the owner and head instructor of OnTrack Performance Riding School, a program he started back in 2008 with one simple goal: help riders become faster, safer, and more confident on track.
What began as Justin teaching small five-rider classes on his own has grown into a full performance riding and race training school that’s helped over 1,500 students progress their riding over the last 17 seasons.
Justin has played a key role in developing the race school framework used for licensing in Alberta and has taught performance and racecraft courses across multiple provinces for a variety of clubs and private groups.
Along the way, he’s had the chance to learn from some incredible instructors and mentors, and he’s taken those lessons and experiences to continuously evolve the OTP program into what it is today.
That approach has paid off, with OTP students earning dozens of championships over the years. It also led to the creation of Academy 9INE, a more advanced, invitation-based program for dedicated racers.
Named after Justin’s own race number, Academy 9INE is where he shares his personal approach to racecraft, technique, and mindset with riders ready to take the next big step.
As a racer, Justin brings plenty of real-world experience to the coaching side, with 8 Western Canadian Championships, 18 club championships, four straight Expert Superbike titles, and race wins at both regional and international levels.
But for Justin, the most rewarding part of it all is helping riders reach their goals and watching them grow on and off the track.
Justin is genuinely thankful for the trust students place in him and is proud to be part of their journey as they work toward becoming better riders and racers.

As we come down to our last couple of instructors, we meet Brad Gavey
Brad has been a integral part of OnTrack Performance Riding School (OTP) for over a decade. Having Brad as apart of OnTrack has been equal parts of joy and laughter his no nonsense approach has bridges Thames gap to Many of our students who would never have even spent the time on the race track if it were not for Brad.
We are incredibly fortunate to have the group of instructors we do here at OnTrack Performance Riding School and Brad is one of our absolute best.
Meet the Legend: Brad Gavey 🏁
With 30+ years of coaching under his belt, Brad Gavey isn’t just an instructor—he’s a cornerstone of the Alberta racing community. From crowning champions to founding BGPR, Brad has dedicated his career to turning street riders into track icons.
The Credentials:

Our next instructor introduction is for a woman that needs no introduction whatsoever. Not only is she gifted on a motorcycle but she's also a very talented instructor. You can catch hear at the Calgary Motorcycle show this weekend and get a autograph and hear about her upcoming CSBK season!
Bronti Verbeek
This self-employed Calgarian hit the track after just one season of street riding and quickly surpassed all expectations. In her first season, Bronti won the Women’s Open Championship, then went on to capture two Intermediate Championships and six wins in 2020. Named Rookie Pro of the Year in 2021, she continued to set new lap records in the Women’s Open class.
Despite an injury-filled 2023 season, Bronti returned strong in 2024, placing 11th and 12th in the CSBK Superbike class and becoming only the fifth woman to compete in the Pro Superbike class in Canadian Superbike’s 45-year history. She also reclaimed the Women’s Open Championship in 2024. At the Western Canadian Championship, she finished 3rd overall in Expert Superbike—making her the first woman to ever achieve a 3rd-place overall finish in that championship.
Looking back at 2025, Bronti had an unforgettable season. She competed in three of four CSBK rounds in the Middleweight Twins class and stood on the podium in her very first race at a track completely new to her. She also made history by becoming only the second woman ever to win a CSBK race, taking her first national victory in pouring rain by one of the largest margins in Canadian history. Nationally, Bronti competed in six races, earning two podium finishes and one race win.
Locally, Bronti won two club championships with EMRA, set three new lap records across three different tracks, and claimed the WCC Middleweight Thunder Championship. She also completed her sixth year coaching with On Track Performance, Ken Hill, and locally at her home track, RMM.
Bronti is a strong advocate for rider training, supports local shops, and is dedicated to creating a positive atmosphere at the racetrack. She has her sights set on competing again this year in CSBK in the Pro Middleweight Twins category, with the ultimate goal of earning a WCR Wildcard entry.

Our next instructor is a very special one. She has moved through the hurdles of becoming an instructor by being a phenomenal student. She's had an opportunity to be mentored and hear every aspect of coaching from each of our instructors.
She brings a fresh new vision to her students and with her education background, she keeps helping to elevate the curriculum that we have here with OTP.
This is Louise Labonte:
Louise is OTP’s resident educator-turned-speed-addict—teaching riders, racing bikes, and making every track day better than the last.
She’s coached across multiple race schools, won the Women’s Open Championship, snagged 3rd in Lightweight Sportbike, and grabbed 2nd at FemmeWalla for good measure.
Off the track? She’s momming, adventuring, golfing, dirtbiking, and loving life with Justin, Sarah, Shae, and her Aussie shepherd Bean.
Basically: if it’s fun, fast, or full of learning—she’s there!

Our next instructor introduction brings us a talented new racer. Brian Taylor has had the opportunity to mentor with our head instructor during his last couple of race seasons, and now is becoming apart of the ONTRACK team.
Born and raised in Jamaica, Brian brings a unique blend of island grit and an unyielding passion for speed to the tarmac.
For Brian, racing is more than just a hobby—it’s a mindset. Whether he’s crossing international borders or precision-clipping apexes on the track, his philosophy remains the same: Ride hard, ride smart.
As he joins our instructor lineup for the 2026 season, Brian is dedicated to helping students find their limit and push past it with confidence.
He believes in savoring every millisecond before the checkered flag drops, ensuring that while the pace is fast, the focus remains sharp.

Our next riding coach introduction is for a dedicated coach that is not only a new father but a talented racer with the Edmonton Motorcycle Roadracing Association - EMRA
Manav Madan
Manav is a dedicated coach with OnTrack Performance (OTP), bringing over 15 years of track experience to every session.
His approach focuses on helping riders refine technique, build confidence, and find their natural flow on the motorcycle.
When he’s not coaching, Manav can be found pushing the limits of his Yamaha R1M, continuously sharpening his own skills at the track.
For Manav, coaching is about more than lap times—it’s about sharing a deep passion for the sport and contributing to a safer, faster, and more connected riding community.

Racing Instructor Introduction – Neil Lauzon
Continuing with our racing instructor introductions, we are proud to welcome Neil Lauzon to the OnTrack Performance Riding School coaching team.
A graduate of Academy 9INE, Neil has established himself as a true force in the Western Canadian road racing scene. His passion for motorcycles, combined with a relentless dedication to improvement, has shaped his racecraft and propelled him to become one of the fastest competitors in the region.
Neil’s approach to riding reflects both precision and commitment—qualities that define his success on track and now underpin his coaching philosophy.
We are excited to have Neil join OTP for his inaugural season as a riding instructor, where he brings not only speed and experience, but a deep appreciation for the value of structured coaching and rider development.
In Neil’s own words:
“I’ve been a fan of motorcycles for as long as I can remember. At twelve years old, my room was plastered with racing posters and I wondered if I’d ever get the chance to ride on a racetrack.
That dream has since become a reality and I’m enjoying every moment of it.
Early in my racing career, I realized the importance of proper coaching for improving performance and safety. It’s a pleasure and an honour to pass along my knowledge and experience to riders who are pursuing a similar journey.
I look forward to the challenges, growth, and memories that lie ahead.”
Neil’s journey from aspiring racer to elite competitor embodies the path that OnTrack Performance strives to create—where passion, discipline, and expert coaching come together to elevate every rider’s experience.
