The dogs at Northern Spirit K9 Rescue in Alberta will be all set for the cold winter ahead of us.

Champion Petfoods, the makers of ORIJEN, have donated 4 pallets of ORIJEN Tundra dog food and boxes of ACANA Dog and Cat Food Grasslands trial bags to this well deserving rescue!

We are proud supporters of over 40 rescues in the Alberta region.

HELP ! Is there any rescues or foster homes out there that could help. Received a call from a lady that has ended up in a shelter and unable to take her friendly 8 year old cocker cross with her. She is looking for someone that could care for her dog on a temporary basis (up to two months) until she can find a place to stay. Northern Spirit will provide the foster home with food. Any rescues or foster homes willing to help.

Shocking...

4th Annual DKD Coyote Tournament DKD will be holding a 1- day Coyote hunting tournament on the 10th of January 2015.(See rules for details)1. Entry fee shall be $50.00 per team. Payback

At our very last drop off we came across 8 plus puppies. We were able to bring in 5 of them but couldn't get the others. Lori did her best crawling around in the snow under the shed but they wouldn't let us reach them. We will get the remaining puppies on friday.

At one area the dogs couldn't wait for us to put the food out. As soon as we stopped and opened the doors the dogs started pileing in. This is on area we will need to go back to on Friday with more food.

At 9 am this morning we were ready to head out to our target community with our volunteer Lori and a vehicle full of dog food donated by Champion Petfoods. Many doggies were feed today but we ran out of food so we are heading back out on Friday with more food.

Alberta Spay Neuter Task Force - Helping People Helping Animals @ Aviva Community Fund ASNTF has had a significant impact in communities across Alberta by helping to reduce pet overpopulation through onsite spay and neuter clinics. There is more to be done to impact not only the wellbeing of the animals, but that of the community that care for them.

Hundreds of Dogs to be Sterilized in Quebec First Nations Community : Humane Society International Humane Society International/Canada and Chiots Nordiques paired up for the second time this year in Opitciwan, Qc to sterilize and provide veterinary services for stray and roaming dogs in a remote First National reserve.
