Get tickets now through the link in our bio.🎟️ 🎹 Rooster Davis, piano @rooster_davis Edmonton’s Rooster Davis steps away from the ensemble for an intimate evening of solo piano. Deeply rooted in the syncopated traditions of New Orleans, Davis explores the rich textures of the Crescent City, paying homage to the masters who defined the sound: James Booker, Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, and Harry Connick Jr. The performance balances these storied classics with Davis’s own solo compositions, showcasing a technical command and extensive knowledge of the New Orleans style in his own music. While he is widely recognized as the Hammond organist for the 2026 Juno-nominated band Secondhand Dreamcar, this performance highlights Davis’s individual mastery. His recent contributions to the genre have earned him a nomination for Keyboard Player of the Year at the 2026 Canadian Blues Music Awards. This is a rare opportunity to hear Rooster bring the sound of NOLA piano music to Yardbird Suite.

Hello my feathered blues friends!
This March 20 I will be at the Yardbird Suite for a rare, solo piano performance. I will be playing some blues classics and some of the tunes from the great New Orleans players, as well as some of my own.

This will be an evening of how I truly sound playing the blues and gospel as I hear it. I hope you can join me!

Wow! I received a Canadian Blues Music nomination, along with my bandmates from Secondhand Dreamcar Dana Wylie and Harry Gregg!
I truly love blues music I am honored to be considered among such great keyboard players. I would like to thank all my bandmates in Dreamcar; I am so proud to be in this band and they are all more deserving than I am.
I wish the best of luck to the other nominees and thanks to the Canadian Blues Society for the nomination.
