ISP is proud of our client, EQUS, who recently received $2.45 million in federal funding for their vehicle-to-grid charging program.

As Canada's largest member-owned rural utility cooperative, EQUS is turning EVs from a grid challenge into a grid asset. Congratulations to CEO Lauren Garvey and the whole team โ€” this is well-deserved recognition.

Integrated Strategic Partners was proud to attend the Strathcona Food Bank Nourish Gala, and we were glad to see Nate Glubish there as well.

The Strathcona Food Bank has been nourishing families in Sherwood Park and rural Strathcona County since 1983, and their work to ensure every community member has access to healthy food is something we deeply respect.

The Strathcona Food Bank is currently raising funds for the Nourish Centre, a new 18,000 sq. ft. facility under construction. With a $7 million campaign goal, every contribution counts. If you'd like to support, consider purchasing a community tile for $250 at strathconafoodbank.ca/nourish-centre.

Thank you to the Strathcona Food Bank for the invitation and for everything you do. ๐Ÿงก

On the ground at the Nisku Energy Show last week.

Two days of sold-out exhibitor halls, industry conversations, and real momentum across Alberta's energy sector โ€” from technology and innovation to workforce development and investment.

ISP was proud to attend and connect with the leaders, businesses, and organizations driving the province's energy future forward.

Thanks to the Leduc, Nisku & Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce for another great show.

A major win for Alberta homeowners. ๐Ÿก

Bill 28 is now law โ€” and one of its key provisions prevents municipalities from creating higher property tax rates based on whether a home is a primary residence, secondary residence, or vacant.

This is a huge victory for our client Fair Futures Canmore (FFC). Their advocacy against Canmore's proposed Livability Tax helped elevate this from a local issue to provincial legislation โ€” with the framework of FFC's advocacy now reflected in Bill 28 itself.

What FFC's work, with ISP's support, has secured:

- A one-year deferral of the Livability Tax until 2027
- Provincial protection for Alberta homeowners from occupancy-based taxation
- Proof that organized, principled advocacy works

ISP is proud to have been instrumental in helping FFC drive this outcome. Congratulations to their team and members.

Alberta Cabinet Shuffle: Six MLAs on the Move

Premier Danielle Smith announced changes to her cabinet today โ€” likely the final major shuffle before the 2027 general election.

The shuffle follows the resignations of former Finance Minister Nate Horner and former Minister of Hospital and Surgical Health Services Matt Jones, who both announced they will not seek re-election.

New appointments:

โ†’ Jason Nixon โ€” Finance and President of the Treasury Board
โ†’ Nathan Neudorf โ€” Assisted Living and Social Services
โ†’ RJ Sigurdson โ€” Affordability and Utilities
โ†’ Tara Sawyer โ€” Agriculture and Irrigation
โ†’ Adriana LaGrange โ€” Hospital and Surgical Health Services
โ†’ Justin Wright โ€” Primary and Preventative Health Services

Brandon Lunty steps in as Chief Government Whip, and Scott Cyr takes on a newly created role as Parliamentary Secretary for Transportation and Strategic Development. Nineteen ministers remain in their current portfolios.

A turning point for Alberta and the West.

Last week, Prime Minister Mark Carney and Premier Danielle Smith announced a landmark Implementation Agreement covering three areas that will shape Alberta's economy for decades:

โ†’ An industrial carbon price rising to $140/tonne by 2040, with a binding TIER floor price

โ†’ A commitment to double Alberta's electricity grid by 2050

โ†’ A new pipeline to Asian markets โ€” one million barrels per day, with construction potentially starting fall 2027

A week on, this remains the clearest investment signal Alberta's energy sector has seen in over a decade โ€” and a meaningful reset after years of federal-provincial conflict over energy policy.

The commitments are on record. The timelines are set.
