Participants needed for a research study!!
Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are invited to participate in a study that aims to better understand the mathematical skills of children with ASD.
The study involves one 60 minute session – yet additional sessions (up to seven) will be offered to willing participants. Each session can take place at your home or at the University of Alberta. Across the sessions, your child will be asked to complete measures of cognitive processing (i.e., how your child thinks), language, and mathematical ability. Also, the parent or legal guardian will be asked to complete some questionnaires. A small gift is offered for each participation session.
We are seeking 5- to 17-year-olds who:
1) have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (including Autistic Disorder, Asperger Syndrome or Pervasive Developmental Disability-Not Otherwise Specified);
2) speak English as their primary language; and
3) are able to give verbal responses during tasks
