Only available in Canada. I specialize in portrait and wildlife photography. Sometimes I focus on one more than the other, but they are both my passion. My goal with my wildlife photography is to bring our wild animals to society's attention. These images are meant to be a reminder of how precious our wildlife is, and that these animals and our environment need to be protected for the health of the planet, and for our future generations to enjoy.

Well, this turned into quite the eventful evening! During our walk through the forest, we came across a barred owl perched high in a tree. We quietly observed and took a few photos when, all of a sudden, her mate swept in and the two mated right before our eyes. Looks like barred owl babies may be in the future! Image taken in BC.

I would like to thank the lovely lady we spoke to in Bear Creak Campground that helped us find these beauties. The owls were not in the campground but in another part of the city. Your help was much appreciated. And, a big thank you to the gentleman who allowed me to photograph the owls from his property. I hope the owls are continuing to do well!!

A new edit, and a re-edit. Sometimes I edit the same image differently then decide which I prefer. Great Grey Owl beauty. Undisclosed location.

This young owl is just beginning to learn how to fly. His wing feathers are developing nicely, but he still has some practicing to do with his flying skills. He is one of three owlets, and Momma was close by, keeping a careful watch over him. Photographed in Calgary.

Finally home from the road trip to BC, and now the fun begins — sorting through all the great photos from along the way. I’d like to extend a big thank you to all of the wonderful people I met who helped me discover those special birding locations, especially the owls! Your kindness and generosity were truly appreciated.
Photos coming soon!

In this image, the female Great Horned Owl had caught some kind of rodent and paused briefly in a spruce tree before delivering it to her baby. I honestly have no idea how the little one was supposed to manage eating it without the mother’s help. The mamma simply handed the prey over and flew off. The baby was still very young — probably only about 5–6 weeks old — and wasn’t even properly branching yet.

This poor gal was being harassed by songbirds! It's a rough life being an owl!

Today's on the road edit. Beautiful barred owl.

This was one of the most special encounters I have ever had. We were walking in a forest, and heard the usual commotion of crows. Off I go and to investigate. I had to tell my partner to stop walking, because we almost walked right into this owl. We backed off to a respectful distance, and I was able to capture this beautiful moment on video.
