Edmonton Goan Association

The Edmonton Goan Association performed at the India Republic Day celebrations at the CISE 25th Anniversary in 2001. 25 years later, we are proud to have renewed our membership with CISE and once again participated in this auspicious occasion.

Sunday, February 15th, we had a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our culture and community being highlighted at the Council of India Societies (CISE) 50th Anniversary Celebration alongside India Republic Day with the receipt of academic awards as well as our youth performance of a Masala Mix of Goan Traditional Dances.

Academic Awards:

Zenia Pereira (Grade 10 Honours)
We know there are so many other youth in our community who are strong in their academics, so we hope to see more of our youth members registered to receive these awards at the next India Republic Day Celebration. Our apologies if we missed naming any members who also received awards.

Rhythm of Goa Dance Performance
Our Goan youth worked so hard to perfect their Rhythm of Goa dance for the big stage at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium. Their exceptional performance was vibrant, energetic and truly showcased our culture and traditional dances.

Congratulations to our performers and choreographers, your hard work and dedication is so evident and we are so very proud of you!
