Hi, I'm Stephanie Jonsson (she/her), the main gal behind Stephanie Jonsson Creative. I've been teaching art for more than twenty years, and ceramics is my main love, the kind of love that leads a person to get the chemical formula for kaolin (a soft white clay) tattooed on their arm. If you don't believe me, see the last photo.
My name appeared in Avenue Edmonton’s (now Edify) very first Top 40 Under 40 list, and I also hold a BFA from the University of Alberta and an MFA from Emily Carr University… though I usually keeps that part quiet unless someone needs reassurance that I know what I'm doing.
What I brings to every class is simple: kindness, clear steps, and the kind of easy humour that help adults forget to be nervous.
Come make something fun. If it turns out a little wonky, even better. That just means it has personality.
