DOC Alberta is excited to announce our 2026 workshops: “Building Your Audience”, a full-day professional development event for documentary filmmakers in Alberta. These workshops are designed to build audience connection strategies and navigate the evolving landscape of marketing, promotion, social media trends, and help you get eyes on your project.

We'd like to welcome Sylvester Mwamba Ndumbi to the DOC Alberta Board.
Sylvester joins the Board with unique experience and will serve the remaining year of a previously vacant seat.
Bio:
Sylvester Ndumbi is an award-winning filmmaker and producer with over a decade of international experience creating premium unscripted and scripted content. His work has screened globally and engaged audiences at the highest levels of policy, culture, and entertainment. Most recently, Ndumbi was invited by the United Nations to present his upcoming documentary, War on Carbon, in Brazil, a major international recognition of his leadership in climate and energy storytelling. His previous documentary, Without Leaving Anyone Behind, was selected as an official UN side event at COP28 in Dubai and has since achieved global distribution. Beyond production, Ndumbi is a sought-after speaker, regularly participating on panels around the world alongside global thought leaders. He also serves as a Board Member of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, where he helps steward significant public investment into the province’s creative sector. Combining creative ambition with proven ex*****on, financing expertise, and international production success, Ndumbi brings the leadership and discipline required to serve and contribute to the growth of unscripted work in the province.
