What does it take to deliver reliable instrumentation solutions day after day?

It takes problem-solvers, builders, innovators, and experts working together behind the scenes.

Every quote prepared, every product assembled, every order shipped, and every customer supported is part of a larger effort driven by the people who make Aircom what it is.

This week, we're highlighting the individuals whose knowledge, dedication, and attention to detail help keep our customers' operations running smoothly.

Did you know that standard smooth shank thermowells are at risk of breakage from vortex-induced vibration?

The Aircom Strakewell features a specialized helical design that breaks up these vibrations, reducing them to the 90th percentile. It's a simple change that leads to much safer and more reliable measurements.

Built for safety. Manufactured the Aircom way.

Everyone talks about data.

But in industrial operations, the real challenge isn't collecting more dataβ€”it's ensuring the data you're collecting is accurate, reliable, and actionable.

As facilities continue to adopt connected technologies, automation, and predictive maintenance strategies, the quality of the measurements feeding those systems becomes increasingly important.

At Aircom, we see firsthand how accurate instrumentation forms the foundation of reliable process data. Even the most advanced analytics platform can't compensate for inaccurate temperature, pressure, flow, or level measurements.

High-quality instrumentation helps organizations:
β€’ Improve process visibility and control
β€’ Identify issues before they become costly failures
β€’ Support predictive maintenance programs
β€’ Reduce unplanned downtime
β€’ Improve product quality and consistency
β€’ Make more confident operational decisions
β€’ Drive long-term reliability and efficiency

The reality is simple: bad data leads to bad decisions.

Whether you're optimizing production, monitoring equipment health, or planning maintenance activities, success starts with trustworthy measurements. That's why Aircom is committed to helping customers build confidence in their process data through reliable instrumentation solutions and application expertise.

Smart systems are only as smart as the data behind them.

One of the most overlooked causes of thermowell failure is vibration.

As process flow moves across a thermowell, it creates vortex shedding. If the frequency matches the thermowell's natural frequency, resonance can occur and lead to fatigue or catastrophic failure over time.

That is why wake frequency calculations matter.

Proper thermowell design is not just about temperature and pressure ratings. It is about understanding how the component behaves in real operating conditions.

No two applications are exactly alike.

That's why many of the solutions that leave our shop are built around specific customer requirements, operating conditions and process challenges.

From custom probes and thermowells to specialized assemblies and engineered solutions, every project starts with understanding the application.

Because sometimes the best solution isn't found in a catalogue.

It's built for the job.

At Aircom, we believe strong partnerships are built around shared values and a long-term commitment to making a positive impact.

Last month, our team attended Project Forest's Annual Partner Celebration, an opportunity to reflect on the collective impact being created through reforestation, ecosystem restoration and environmental stewardship initiatives across Canada.

As a founding partner of Project Forest, Aircom has proudly supported their mission for years. Through this partnership, we've helped support tree planting and rewilding efforts that contribute to healthier ecosystems and landscapes that will continue to benefit future generations.

What we value most about this partnership is that it goes beyond planting trees. It is about investing in something that grows over time, bringing together organizations that share a commitment to responsible stewardship and lasting impact.

Thank you to the Project Forest team and all of the partners who continue to make this work possible! πŸ‘

An off-the-shelf temperature sensor might save money upfront, but what happens when it isn't designed for the application?

Premature sensor failures can lead to unplanned downtime, troubleshooting, repeated replacements and unreliable temperature data. Often, the real cost isn't the sensor itself, it's the impact on your operation.

In our latest blog, we explore when it makes sense to move beyond a catalogue part and consider a custom temperature probe. From harsh process conditions and corrosive media to challenging installation requirements and advanced sensor configurations, we break down the factors that influence long-term performance and reliability.

Because the right temperature measurement solution isn't just about selecting a sensorβ€”it's about designing for the environment it needs to survive.

RTD vs. Thermocouple: Which Surface Sensor Is Right for You?

The answer depends on what matters most for your application.

RTDs are often selected when accuracy and long-term stability are priorities, while thermocouples are commonly used in applications requiring fast response times, durability, or exposure to higher temperatures.

In our latest blog, we break down the key differences between these technologies and explore how factors like accuracy, response time, operating environment and installation requirements can influence sensor selection for surface temperature measurement applications.
