Some people run from the police. Today’s participants ran with us!

The Edmonton Police Service Half Marathon brought out plenty of speed, determination and personal bests.

From first-time racers to seasoned runners, every step helped support a meaningful cause that connects the community and police.

Thanks to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered or cheered and a special thank you to Loblaws, all the sponsors, and the Edmonton Police Foundation. You all helped make the day a huge success.

No tickets were issued for speeding, but there were definitely a few fast finishes.

Today, on National Police Woman Day, the Edmonton Police Service proudly honours the incredible women who wear the badge and work tirelessly to keep YEG safe.

From the frontlines to specialized units, investigative divisions, and senior leadership, the women of EPS bring unmatched dedication, courage, and compassion to our city every single day. They are trailblazers, protectors, mentors, and problem solvers who make our community stronger and inspire the next generation of police leaders.

Thank you for your unwavering service, your bravery, and your commitment.

It's about time we introduced Brady!👮‍♂️

He joined the EPS over ten years ago, and has spent time in West Patrol, Beats, the Police Liaison Team, TRACS, and now the Recruiting Unit.

While Recruiting is (so far) his favourite assignment, beats is a close second. Building relationships, solving problems, and getting to know the community on 124 Street made every day a little different.

Before policing, his background in social work came in handy when responding to a variety of calls and community assistance across Edmonton.

Brady offers this advice for applicants: "Be yourself, be professional, and remember every interaction counts. Show up prepared, take advantage of workshops, Run with Recruiters events, and be open to feedback. We're here to chat with you if you have questions! Policing is an incredible career that will challenge you, teach you, and help you discover strengths you didn't know you had".

When he's off duty, you'll find him spending time with his growing family, or trying to balance a long list of hobbies that includes drumming, snowboarding, football, cooking, camping, and travel.
