It’s been a HOT minute since I’ve been on here, however, after a long and unanticipated hiatus, I am ramping up for something BIG!
I have also been focusing a lot on my own personal health journey, focusing on mindful eating as opposed to macros (to some degree) and focusing on my mental health more, so it’s been an interesting ride. I’ve had a lot going on in my personal life over the last 6 weeks, so it’s just been a VERY emotional time for me. However, I’m back, I’m ready to be here again and hope to bring some amazing content to you guys! How have all of you been?!

What do you believe could be holding you back from reaching your goals? Is it lack of motivation, boredom, interest? Is it the fear of failing yet again at another attempt at your fitness regime? I get it, I 100% understand the fear and the lack of motivation. It SUCKS.

Why don’t I post workout videos like many “fitfluencers”?
As much as I would love to share my workouts everyday that I go to the gym, truth be told, you’d be bored out of your mind. Every week, seeing the same 6-8 workouts on the same days. I wouldn’t have much to share, as I follow “block” periods, where my workouts change every 6 weeks (give or take) and that those videos of individuals changing their workouts everyday, is not always an accurate visual.
My programming is very specific to me and me only (just like when I create one for anyone, it’s tailored to YOUR needs), so I don’t want you hoping to see results with a program that isn’t built for you and wondering why it’s not changing a thing (especially when there’s so much more than just ‘exercising’ that goes into it).

✨ SURPRISE ✨ there is no ‘get fit quick’ secret. Losing weight and getting stronger takes patience, hard work, determination and most of all, time. I know you were hopeful as you have probably been seeing all the ads on IG and TikTok that claim they can help you lose 20lbs in just 21 days (or whatever it is they’re claiming). However, losing weight and getting stronger isn’t going to happen because you cut out 2 nutritious meals a day in replacement of a smoothie. In fact, it can have the opposite effect!
If it does help you lose weight, it’s not going to be a SAFE way to do it. These habits can lead to disordered eating, binge eating, lack of proper nutrients and so much more. That kind of weight loss is NOT sustainable, whatsoever.

Now that restrictions seem to be lifting all over, you may be ready to get back to the gym. I mean who isn’t?! However, there are 5 things you should keep in mind when heading back to the gym!
1. What was light before may be heavy now. Don’t just jump back into it, especially if it’s been a while. Ease into those workouts!
2. Muscle pain may be more prominent than you remember. Delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) will probably be pretty active for the first little bit. That’s OKAY!
3. Muscle memory, your body may not move like it did before, again, ease into those workouts. Focus on form and then focus on the weight after the form has been perfected!
4. Rest days! Getting back to the gym may be more tiring/exhausting than you remember. MAKE SURE you are taking those rest days, they are so important, mentally AND physically.
5. Hydration - make sure you are drinking enough water, before, during, and after your workouts. This can definitely help with your recovery days.

Do you struggle with your sleep? What about managing your daily stressors?
Sometimes, our bodies will struggle with these things and that can impact the journey you’re on. The best way to handle that, find an outlet for your stressors! Maybe it’s taking a walk at lunch, maybe it’s going to sleep 10 minutes earlier. Whatever it is, a small difference can change SO much.
Example: I personally have struggled with sleep AND severe depression which led to stress. I found an outlet (through self-care) and have since been on a slow, but steady weight loss journey! So how do you think you can handle this struggle for YOURSELF?

I have to get a pad for the next time, as my pelvis still hasn’t healed from a fracture in 2017. Hence the speed with some of these, typically you want to do these on a 3-1-3 basis! ☺️ What exercises do you enjoy for glute specific days?

What time do you wake up? Tomorrow, try to wake up 5 minutes earlier! Do that everyday if you’re struggling to wake up early until you get to that ideal time that works FOR YOU!
Did you know if you lifted 2 days/week, full body both days, can help you maintain a healthy bone structure. The more you do it however, can definitely have an impact on your overall body composition!
How did you feel today about what you accomplished? If you’re feeling a little iffy about that, find ONE small thing to do tomorrow to be better than you were today. Even if that one small thing is showering OR making your bed! 🥰
Did you read anything today? Reading is a great way to maintain a great engagement of the mind as you age. Even if it’s a news article, a fictional story, find a way to read something that ISN’T on your Instagram feed 😉!

What is the one thing that gets you out of your funk? For me, it’s reading and working out, however, I do get a better mood by doing gym workouts vs home workouts.

I had this lovely lady reach out to me in December looking for a trial program. I had agreed to work with her and create her a completely at-home program which included mostly resistance bands and some body weight.
She didn’t want to commit at the time to a full-time coaching program, so we worked together to find an alternative. Well, the results from her at home program are IN! When I tell you I was BLOWN AWAY at the results! She did absolutely FANTASTIC!
