From shorts, sunshine and lakes to toques, yellow leaves, thanksgiving and the start of a new school year:
grade 12 for Noah,
2nd year uni for Meg’s and,
12th year of uni me lol

Meggan and I were in school and Noah worked all summer… still managed to fit in some good times

Appreciation post for these amazing humans.

Meggan and Noah; of all the many, many attributes that I am proud of them for, the greatest of all is their empathy and kindness. Since losing Pa these kids have made sure that they spend time with Damma multiple times a week and help in any way they can. Meggan started weekly cooking sessions with Damma, Noah stops by Dammas on his way home, or they go together to play games, help out around the house or just visit (sometimes until way past Dammas bedtime lol).

Despite their busy teenage/young adult lives they make time for what really matters. Not because they’re asked to, or told to, because they want to.

Momma/Damma; my parents met at 14 yrs old and were together ever since. She doesn’t remember a life without him in it and I can’t imagine what she has felt and how she continues to feel since we lost him. But she has done all she can these last 2 years to be strong: started the gym, joining senior classes and making new friends, daily walks and bike rides, and spending time with family and friends.

Dad, I hope you’re watching because I know this is exactly what you would want.

All the spring flowers and smells. Warm long days and beautiful sunsets. Patios. Walks. Time in the garden. Mother’s Day. Family and hugs. Research. Finishing that bonus room reno. Time for me to enjoy cooking. And… a birthday😉

April you were exhausting but pretty good.
Lots of late night getting final papers done, Noah’s first car, walks and patio with Meggan, Cooking, Sunshine and sunsets, and adult Easter baskets.

March…. Such a wild month lol
Spring, blizzard, spring again
Dammas bday, Family science centre day,
Septum surgery, Noah’s 1st job, more home renos, vegan nacho night and homemade lasagne that lasted 10 min, Poker,
Noah’s solution for not having to clean up after shaving,
School, research, work, home workouts

And now on to April we go 🙂

It’s been two years today and there is not a single one that I haven’t spent missing you.
There is nothing in this world that has broke my heart as much as losing you has Dad.

I thought the hardest part of loss was the day we had to say goodbye, and now I know that the hardest part is all the days that keep coming without you here.

I hope heaven is as beautiful as you deserve.

I hope that somehow you can still hear me when I talk to you and see that I will forever live a life that honours you.
