Appropriate social skills are needed in order for dogs to coexist with other strange dogs in public off leash spaces. Skills like reading other dogs body language, taking breaks during play, polite greetings, listening to other dogs cues and the ability to regulate emotions around other dogs are all learned behaviors! Being able to take your dog off leash can greatly improve not only their levels of enrichment and exercise but also your relationship! I am a big advocate in taking dogs off leash (in designated areas) and doing so in a safe and fun way!
