“I didn’t realize I just had back pain constantly.”
As chiropractors, we can get so used to working through our own discomfort that we forget how much it’s affecting our lives.
Dr. Liz attended our Calgary pelvic floor seminar with ongoing low back and SI joint pain that had been interfering with her training and work.
In this clip, she shares what happened next:
🙌 A seven-and-a-half-hour drive home without back pain.
🥾 Two months later, hiking and lifting without back pain while training for the Grand Canyon.
💛 A significant improvement in her incontinence symptoms, though they hadn’t fully resolved.
And she makes an important point: her care continued at home with her associate, who attended the seminar with her.
This is her personal experience—and hearing what those changes have meant in her everyday life is why Brandi and I love this work.
Because the chiropractor’s health matters, too.

Could the pelvic floor be a missing piece when you’re assessing someone with hip complaints?
In this clip from our podcast, Dr. Lauren shares the story of a patient who was uncomfortable with a recommendation for hip surgery. After two sessions using the pelvic floor protocol from the MacDonald Safety Corridor Protocol, she reported that the patient was no longer limping—just two weeks later.
That’s an encouraging change. It doesn’t establish whether surgery was needed, but it raises a valuable clinical question: have we considered how the pelvic floor may be contributing to the person’s presentation?
Chiropractors: when someone comes in with hip complaints, is the pelvic floor part of your assessment?

Pelvic Floor Chiropractic, Tailbone dysfunction and Nervous-System Regulation with Dr. Lauren Rose What happens when chiropractors look beyond the spine and begin paying closer attention to the pelvis, pelvic floor, fascia and nervous system? In this episode of The Informed Chiropractor Podcast, Dr. Don MacDonald sits down with Dr. Lauren Rose, a chiropractor from Okotoks, Alberta, to talk about....
One of the most common questions I hear about the MacDonald Safety Corridor Protocol is:
“Do I have to change the way I adjust?”
No.
The goal is to help you become more aware of the physiology around the adjustment you already deliver.
Timing matters. Breath matters. Position matters. The response of the tissue matters. Your own regulation at the table matters too.
The pelvic floor seminar in Denver is designed to make those ideas practical. We will look at the pelvis through neurological, fascial, and functional lenses, then spend time applying the work hands-on.
You do not need prior pelvic-floor training. You do need to stay curious.
