Heath, GDS (Gratitude Distribution Specialist) at was instrumental in Cafe Neo making exceptional coffee alongside our roasting partner . Heath and his partner Vicki stopped by today for a farewell coffee and they have started their own very cool coffee venture: specialty coffee catering for events, all centred around gratitude. One thing we are very grateful for is our exceptional coffee community in Edmonton.

We strongly resist the comparisons and begrudging that sometimes comes up around the prices of independent cafes compared to Starbucks and Tim Hortons. What some people don’t realize is that supporting independent coffee businesses in your city is supporting a small but meaningful community that truly creates amplified value across the local supply chain. That is NOT what a Starbucks or a Tim Hortons does. And no, Tim Hortons even if franchised is not locally owned. Owners - if lucky - get a wage and less than 7% profits a year. Otherwise 90% of their revenues goes back into the conglomerate. That is not local.
