It's not even May. None of the garden centres are open yet, but some of the native plants have already started growing in our yard. Left to right: chive, sweet grass, goldenrod, hyssop, lupine, bergamot. What's not to love about these amazing plants?! Happy Easter everyone!

Leave your leaf litter overwinter. Lots of beneficial insects depend on the litters for shelters. We found this cute little ladybug resting on dead strawberry leaves from last year. They're the primary predators for aphids..
